DuWop Cosmetics Benefiting Breast Cancer Awareness

Continuing with Breast Cancer Awareness beauty products, DuWop Cosmetics offers two great items. First,DuWop Ice Shimmer Shadow Palette is a limited edition highlighting shimmer powder. Brush this pink powder over your skin to reflect the light and even out skin tones. I believe that a pink highlighter is a must during the holiday party season. It makes skin look heavenly in those candlelit type settings. It is available for $18 with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Cosmetic Executive Women Cancer and Careers Foundation.

DuWop also offers the Liplingo Multi Effect Lip Palette. What I love about DuWop Liplingo Palettes is the fact that it features a lipstick with four compatible lip glosses. All too often a lip palette contains either lipsticks or lip glosses and not a combination of the two. Here, you get the best of both worlds. This limited edition palette contains a rose lip color with glosses featuring "a subtle gold frost, a pale pink shimmer gloss, a rich pink sherbet tone with sparkle and a pink tinged clear balm with a high shine." It is available for $32 with a portion of proceeds again benefiting the Cosmetic Executive Women Cancer and Careers Foundation.

I am genuinely touched by DuWop Cosmetics products benefiting Breast Cancer Awareness. The packaging for their BCA products contains the names of "women we know and love who have been affected by this disease" as a "physical tribute."

As far as I can tell, these DuWop limited editions are only available at Beauty.com. Happy Shopping!

Clinique Great Lips, Great Cause Lipstick Set

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Having a Mom who is a Breast Cancer Survivor, I am always on the lookout for products that support the fight against Breast Cancer all year long. October is always great because more companies release special edition products with a larger percentage being donated to Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns. I will do my best to post as many of these products as I can.

Clinique has released its Great Lips, Great Cause Lipstick Set exclusively at Sephora. Featuring Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick in limited-edition Ribbon Pink, this set includes a super cute shimmery silver lip stick case. I absolutely love the color name. It’s available for $16.50 with $10 being donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for each sale.

The reviews are mixed on this product. Some feel that there are chunks of glitter in this lipstick that makes it uncomfortable to wear. I really don’t have a problem with the flecks of glitter in this product. The fact that this is a lip stick and not a lip gloss seems to control the amount of glitter that actually is applied to your lips. What I mean is that with a gloss, the fact that your scooping out a liquid and slathering it on your lips allows for chunks of things to be applied to your lips. Does that make any sense at all? Either way, how can you pass up this limited edition set when $10 dollars will be donated with each sale?

BCA Product Spotlight - Tarte Inside Out Vitamin Lipstick

And now it's time for another Breast Cancer Awareness product, this time brought to you by Tarte Cosmetics. When you purchase Tarte's Inside Out Vitamin Lipstick in Sweet Dreams, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Young Survival Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to the concerns and issues that are unique to young women with breast cancer. Sweet Dreams is a gorgeous pale pink shade (it's the one in the middle in the pink tube in the picture). This is one of the products that was born out of the collaboration between Tarte and Borba so not only will you be looking good using this product, but you'll be feeling good thanks to vitamins packed in this lipstick. You'll be feeling even better knowing a portion of the proceeds are going to help a great charity. The good news is that this product is not a "specially made for October" lipstick and is available all year round.

New Goodies From Benefit

Benefit Cosmetics has released three new products. Many of you may recall my last post about Benefit's new relase, Rush Hour, and how I was not at all impressed since it was nothing new, nothing original. So I have to admit that the new lipstick, cream blush, and and cream eye shadow/liner are nothing new, but the shades and packaging are so great I am willing to overlook that. The only thing that does bother me is that these products (especially the lipstick and the eyeliner) seem to be rip-offs of Stila products. Take a look and you decide.

I am generally not a lipstick girl, but I absolutely love the new Silky-Finish Lipstick from Benefit. The color spectrum runs from light neutrals to deep plums. The color is sheer, but buildable. Slick on one coat for barely there color or add multiple coats to give your lips deeper color. This product also moisturizes lips like you wouldn't believe. When I put this lipstick on, it felt like the color and the lipstick was just melting into my lips. It also serves as a great base if you want to layer some gloss on top. I skipped the lipliner and just threw some Silky-Finish Lipstick on my lips topped off with a gloss and I loved what I saw. And I know that we're not supposed to judge products based on their packaging, but I love the packaging for this product. The black lipstick tube embellished with the trademark Benefit logo and loop is just too cute.

On to eyes! With Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner, Benefit has taken two of my favorite Stila products (Shadow Pots and Cream Liners) and combined them into one convenient product. Apply a light layer all over your eyelid, and then apply multiple layers to line and contour your eyes. The best thing is that if you choose to only use one color, your shadow and liner is going to be an absolute perfect match because technically they are the same color. Of course you're not limited to one color, mix and match to create a dramatic effect. There are tons of shades to choose from, but I'm hoping that they will release some more lighter shades. I'm thinking white, silver, violet, light blue...I love wearing lighter shades in warmer weather. The fact that these shadows/liners are cream makes them so blendable. You know what I'm thinking...SMOKEY EYES!!! And again, I love the packaging!

Lastly, the product I'm least impressed with, Benefit's Sheer Cream Blusher. Benefit claims, "Give cheeks a perky pinch of natural color and cheer up your cheeks with one of these beautifully natural shades." Three shades are available in coral, rose, and berry. Okay, so the product is not bad, but it still doesn't give me the natural flush that I get from my Tarte Cheek Stain. I have yet to find a product that comes close to the natural look of Tarte. The other thing is that I love Benefit's powder blushes (especially Dallas) for when I want more of a dramatic color look. So basically, the new Sheer Cream Blusher just isn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure that tons of you will love it. It's still a great product, just one that I don't need.
