NARS Sephora Exclusive Lip Gloss Collection

There seems to be an excess of lip gloss sets being released this holiday season. And let me just tell you, that is fine by me! I’m excited to say that even NARS has got in on the lip gloss gift sets this holiday season. Unfortunately, these are not full size lip glosses, but that being said, these are not minis either. Personally, I think these are more than big enough (figuring that most gift sets do not contain full size products), especially for the $45 price tag. On top of it, this kit makes owning all five of these lip gloss shades affordable. Many people would most likely not want to shell out $24 for each full size gloss, but $45 for all of them in a slightly smaller size is all good.

NARS Miami Sun Set

I don't know how I missed this, but I did. Sephora has an online only limited edition set from NARS. The Miami Sun Set features three products perfect for summer: an eye shadow duo in Sundance, a lip lacquer in Capucine, and a nail polish in Dovima. All of these shades are perfect for creating that beautiful sun-kissed glow that we all want during the summer. You can never have to many golden and beige shades of shadow! Also, if you've never tried a tangerine shade of lip color, especially in NARS lip lacquer form, you should definately check this out. I have a similar shade from NARS and it is absolutely gorgeous. Very versatile and not nearly as orangey on as in the pot. It really enhances the natural color of your lips...perfect for the summertime when you don't want to look to make-upy.

Truth be told, I am passing on this set because I do not wear nail polish. I know, how could someone who is make-up obsessed not use nail polish. Truth is that I never was into it and still have no desire to use it. So, being as I wouldn't use 1/3 of this set I see no reason to get it. But for those of you who are into the nail polish thing, I think this is a must have set.

Nars The Multpile - Orgasm At Sephora

So I knew this product had to come out at some point in time. Little did I know it would take this long! Orgasm, the most popular and favorite color of Nars fans, that has been available as a lip gloss, a blush, and eventually a blush/bronzer duo is now available in Nars' much coveted The Multiple. Yes, you've heard me correctly. The perfect peachy pink shade is now available in a multi-tasking cream stick allowing you to apply beautiful and flattering color to your eyes, cheeks, lips, decolletage, and wherever else you fancy. Admit it; you've used the blush as an eye shadow before!

I can remember the first time I purchased an Orgasm product (how dirty does that sound???). I started with the lip Gloss after reading about it in every magazine and hearing about it from anyone who cared about make-up. The $23 price tag was a bit of sticker shock at the time and as a result I left the lip gloss in the box for a few weeks, not wanting to "ruin" my $23 lip gloss. Finally, I decided I had to see what all the fuss was about and I ripped open the package and smeared the gloss on my lips. I could not believe I had waited so long to try this God send to the beauty world. The shine was spectacular and pink and peach blended together to give such a beautiful hint of color without giving me the "I have make-up on look." It was so natural and subtle. It was at the moment I was hooked. I quickly became a devout follower of the Orgasm shade and snatched up the blush as well. Trust everyone when they say it is a universally flattering shade. Better yet, it's universally flattering not just on skin types, but also for the daytime to nighttime transition.

If you have yet to try Orgasm...have you been living under a rock!?!?!?! Just Kidding!!! But if you haven't and have been wanting to give it a try but maybe have been having the sticker shock that used to plague me, this new The Multiple - Orgasm product may be for you. Since it's a multi-tasker you'll feel better spending money on a product that is designed for multi uses. Trust me, once you try this shade you are going to be kicking yourself for not trying it sooner.

Review: NARS Deep Throat Blush & Striptease Lip Gloss Set

After much anticipation, I finally received my order of the new Nars Deep Throat Blush & Striptease Lip Gloss Set Deep Throat Blush & Striptease Lip Gloss. Having already used the Deep Throat Blush, I was really looking forward to the new NARS Striptease Lip Gloss; a shade that is currently only available in this set. It is described as "the quintessential nude lip gloss that imparts a universally flattering, candlelight-nude luster to lips. Striptease exudes sophisticated glamour and polish when worn alone, and its softly glowing color brilliantly complements other lip colors when layered together." Okay, let me just say that none of this rings true, in my opinion. Based on the review, and the small color swatch on Sephora.com, I was expecting a gorgeous nude shade that would offer some shine and would be sheen and sheer.

As I stated in a previous post, I thought this was going to be a shade that would be similar to J.Lo's infamous shiney nude lips. Imagine my shock when I ran to the bathroom to apply Striptease only to find that it was a time warp back to the 1980s. The best way to describe this shade...FROSTED LIPS! It was hideous. Not only did it make my lips look horrible, but the shade also washed out the rest of my face. I cannot believe that they call this shade nude. More so, I can't believe they recommend layering this shade over lipsticks and other lip color. It is not a true nude that could be used for such purposes. Applying this shade over other lip color would just give your lips a frosted look with a hint of color.

Needless to say, I was highly disappointed with the new Striptease shade. I am highly suprised since I am usually a big fan of all NARS lip glosses. Oh, one other thing. I had my sister as well as 2 friends try out Striptease as well. We all have different skin tones and it flattered NO ONE! NARS should change the description of this one to "universally un-flattering."
